I can’t believe the day finally came for you to pack your bags and fly to the Most Magical Place on Earth to become a Fairy Godmother in Training. Your fearlessness in this whole process has been nothing but inspiring. I can’t even begin to tell you how proud I am of you as you set off on this journey to complete your first Disney College Program.
You have always been my best friend since you were born. You were born into this Disney loving and you embraced it like none of us ever could.
Your passion for learning about how Disney creates worlds and brings magic to guests in their theme parks every day is something I wish I could match. When I made you join me in writing this blog years ago you wrote some of the best pieces I have ever read. Whether you were ranting about people not understanding the “Wish Upon a Star Mentality” or were educating our small audience about the Pepper’s Ghost effect in the Haunted Mansion, you showed that your desire to understand and discuss Disney’s ability to create worlds, immerse, and inspire guests/viewers was something unique.
You’ve indulged my Disney obsession, but you’ve also nurtured one of your own. One that you hope to turn into a career as an Imagineer. If there is anyone in this world who is capable of doing that; it’s you. This DCP is just the first step you’re taking to reach your goals and you continue to amaze me with how much drive you have. You fiercely believe in your dreams and your desire to create magic for others with your creativity is beautiful.
I know I’ve said this over and over again, but I am so immensely proud of you. I couldn’t ask for a better sister or best friend to have in my life. I am so thankful that you are both. I am going to miss you so much while you’re gone but I can’t wait to hear about all of your adventures. You’ve inspired me to try to get back into blogging again. I don’t know how much I will be able to write with school, but I hope I can keep bringing Disney news to the world and sharing my Disney opinions along the way. Maybe this can be a place for you to check into things or maybe you could give me an insider’s scoop sometime 😉
Thank you for proving that believing in dreams, wishing on stars, and perseverance can make the magic real. I’ll leave you with the same quote you so beautifully left me:
I love you, dear sister. I can’t wait to see what you do and how far you go. Keep being your amazing self and believing in magic. You’re are going to have such a big impact on kids as you use your fairy dust to turn them into their favorite Disney princes and princesses.
Until we meet again,
